1. Please tell us a bit about yourself.
   I am Betül from Kayseri/Turkey. My profession is architecture, I have also been doing astrophotography for 7 years. My interest in space was reflected in astrophotography when I bought a camera.
   
   [TR] Ben Kayseri/Türkiye’den Betül. Mesleğim mimarlık, aynı zamanda 7 yıldır astrofotoğrafçılık da yapıyorum. Uzay’a olan ilgim bir fotoğraf makinesi almamla birlikte astrofotoğrafçılığa yansıdı.

2. What mediums do you use to express yourself?
   Aside from photography and visual arts, playing the piano and engaging in piano composition serves as the means through which I express my inner thoughts and emotions.
   
   [TR] Fotoğrafçılık ve görsel sanatların yanısıra piyano çalmak ve piyanoda besteler yapmak içinden gelenleri yansıtmak için kullandığım araçlardan.

3. What is your professional gear?

   For moon photos, I used the Nikon D7100 +Nikon 200-500mm lens, occasionally switching to the Nikon 18-140mm lens. For macro photography, I relied on the Nikon 105mm macro lens. As for capturing the Milky Way and wide-angle landscapes, I use Sony A7R2 + Samyang 18mm lens. Last year I utilized a telescope with a Celestron XLT and a focal length of 2000mm.
   
   [TR] Ay fotoğraflarım için , Nikon d7100 + Nikon 200/500 mm lens , bazen nikon 18-140 mm lens, makro fotoğraflar için nikon 105 mm macro lens.. Samanyolu ve geniş açı manzaralar için Sony A7R2 + Samyang 18 mm lens.. geçtiğimiz sene bunlara ilave olarak Celestron XLT 2000 mm odak uzaklığına sahip bir teleskop da kullanıyordum.

4. What inspires you?
   The sky serves as my greatest muse. During a full moon night, as the Sun gracefully descends, the luminous yellow Moon emerges amidst a backdrop of blue, purple, and pink hues. In the depths of the dark sky, our magnificent galaxy, the Milky Way, unveils with radiance. Astrophotography reveals our position within the vast expanse of the Universe. Every celestial occurrence becomes a wellspring of inspiration for me.
   
   [TR] Bana en çok gökyüzü ilham verir. Bir dolunay akşamında, Güneş yavaş yavaş batarken tam karşısında sapsarı parlayan Ay, mavi, mor ve pembe tonlar arasında doğmaya başlar. Kapkaranlık bir gökyüzünde galaksimiz Samanyolu tüm ışıltısı ile bize kendini gösterir. Bazen bir kuyruklu yıldız Dünyamıza çok yakın geçer ve pırıltısını görmemize izin verir. Astrofotoğrafçılık bize Evrendeki yerimizi gösterir. Gökyüzünde olup biten herşey benim için ilham kaynağıdır.

5. Are you a Solo or Collaborative artist?
   Up until this point, I have primarily undertaken projects independently. However, I strongly believe that collaborations between artists, focusing on subjects that can harmoniously intertwine, yield exceptional outcomes.
   
   [TR] Şu ana kadar genellikle kendim projeler yaptım. Birbirini tamamlayabilecek konularda sanatçılar arasında yapılan işbirliklerinin sonucunun çok güzel olduğunu düşünüyorum.

6. How do you/your perception of art differ from others?
   The mastery of shooting techniques holds great significance in astrophotography. These captivating photographs serve as records that immortalize celestial moments. From the very beginning of my astrophotography journey, I have consistently strived to convey the essence of those awe-inspiring natural moments through technically precise yet emotional compositions. This approach has led to the evolution of my distinctive concept featuring seasonal flowers and the daytime Moon. The idea is not in merely capturing any flower in a photograph but in skillfully intertwining the flower of the day with the celestial presence of the Moon within the frame and with the inherent harmony of nature. If I can successfully capture that essence, the resulting photograph has the power to deeply resonate with and touch the souls of others.
   
   [TR] Astrofotoğrafçılık da çekim teknikleri oldukça önemlidir. Bu fotoğraflar gökyüzü için anı kaydeden bir belgedir. Astrofotoğrafçılığa ilk başladığım zamandan itibaren teknik olarak doğru çekilmiş ama her zaman doğada o anın bana hissettirdiği duyguyu bu karelere yansıtmaya çalıştım. Özellikle mevsim çiçekleri ve gündüz Ay’ı konseptim zaman içinde böyle gelişti. Burada önemli olan herhangi bir çiçek fotoğrafı değil, o an o günün çiçeği ile Ay’ın birlikte birbirine sarıldığı bir kareyi oluşturabilmeliyim. Doğanın ahengi fotoğraflarıma yansımalı. 7. Is there a fav artist or an artwork that inspired you/your style?
   The depiction of nature and the moment in the works of Monet and Van Gogh has always fascinated me.
   
   [TR] Monet’ nin ve Van Gogh’un eserlerinde, doğanın ve anın resmedilişi beni her zaman etkilemiştir.

8. What does Innovation mean to you?
   Transforming a brilliant concept into a practical product that simplifies people's lives has the potential to introduce innovative solutions across various domains. Novel ideas warrant careful consideration, with a focus on evaluating their societal benefits.
   
   [TR] Parlak bir fikrin insanlar için bir şeyleri kolaylaştırabilecek bir ürüne dönüşmesi bir çok alanda yeni çözümler getirecektir. Yeni fikirler dikkate alınmalı ve topluma sağlayacağı faydalar değerlendirilmelidir.

9. Are you familiar with Web3 /NFTs/Crypto?
   For approximately a year and a half, I have immersed myself in WEB 3. Initially driven by the notion of venturing into the NFT space, I found it to be an enriching and exhilarating journey that opened my eyes to diverse art forms. The advancements within this field, the unique artistic perspectives, and the opportunity to connect with creatives worldwide hold immense significance and value in my personal growth.
   
   [TR] Yaklaşık 1.5 yıldır WEB 3 ile ilgiliyim. İlk başta “ben de NFT alanında olmalıyım” düşüncesi ile başlamış olsam da NFT’ler sayesinde sanatın bambaşka alanlarını hayranlıkla keşfetmek ve izlemek benim için muhteşem bir duygu ve tecrübe oldu. Bu alandaki yenilikler, sanatçıların bakış açısı ve dünyanın her yerinden sanatçılarla iletişim halinde olmak benim için çok değerli.

10. Is AI your Enemy or Friend?
    Engaging with AI demands a substantial amount of time, driven by my genuine enthusiasm for the field. It brings me immense joy, particularly when the outcomes closely align with my initial vision. In architecture, I firmly believe that AI has the potential to become increasingly valuable as time progresses. Nevertheless, despite these advancements, the impact of observing a real-life scene within an authentic photo frame differs from the experience of viewing an image generated by AI. The incorporation of an artist's emotions by a painter or musician will always hold a distinct place in the depths of human hearts. AI will undoubtedly continue to carve out its niche in our lives, yet the essence of art will forever be shaped by the emotional expression of artists.
    
    [TR] AI ile uğraşmak çok zamanımı alıyor, çünkü gerçekten çok seviyorum. Özellikle düşündüğüme yakın sonuçlar aldığım zaman beni mutlu ediyor. Mimarlık alanında da AI’ın zamanla cok daha faydalı olabileceğini düşünüyorum. Ama tüm bunlara rağmen gerçek bir fotoğraf karesindeki gerçek bakış ile AI ile oluşturulmuş bir resimdeki bakışın etkisi aynı olmayacaktır. Veya bir ressamın, bir müzisyenin duygularını kattığı bir eser, insan kalbinde her zaman daha farklı bir yer bulacaktır. AI bundan sonra hayatımızda gitgide daha fazla yer bulacaktır ama sanatçının duyguları, sanatı şekillendirecektir.

    Photo on the right: NASA launched a rocket to the Moon a few months ago. During this momentous event, two of her works were selected and showcased on NASA's live broadcast. ]
    

11. Please tell us a bit about a recent piece of the art world that has particularly interested you.
    Lately, I've had the pleasure of discovering many diverse artists, particularly through social media platforms. Some of their works have captivated me to the extent that I could spend hours gazing at them. Currently, I find myself drawn to abstract pieces featuring intricate lines and dots, immersive 3D digital creations, and the ethereal beauty of watercolor paintings. I do follow numerous photographers who tirelessly capture mesmerizing astrophotographs from various corners of the world.

    One recent photograph that left a profound impact on me showcases a frame where, for the first time, a nebula previously unphotographed has been beautifully captured alongside the Andromeda galaxy through long-term exposure by the ‘astrofalls’. Andromeda, a prominent galaxy visible to the naked eye, has been the subject of countless photographs in the past. However, this new discovery added an extraordinary level of value to that particular image, enriching its overall significance.
    
    [TR] Son zamanlarda özellikle sosyal medyada bir çok farklı sanatçı keşfettim. Bazı çalışmaları saatlerce izlemek istiyorum. Çizgiler ve noktalarla yapılan soyut çalışmalar, 3 boyutlu dijital çalışmalar ve suluboya ile yapılan resimler bu aralar en çok takip ettiklerim arasında. Aynı zamanda dünya çapında astrofotoğraf çeken bir çok fotoğrafçıyı da günlük olarak takip ediyorum. Son zamanlarda beni en çok etkileyen fotoğraflardan biri, Andromeda galaksisinin uzun süreli pozlamması ile elde edilen bir fotoğrafında şimdiye kadar fotoğraflanmamış olan bir bulutsunun da görüntüsünün alındığı kare oldu. Andromeda gökyüzünde çıplak gözle de görülebilen bir galaksi ve bugüne kadar defalarca kez fotoğraflandı. Ama bu yeni buluş o fotoğrafa fazlasıyla değer kattı.

12. Any other projects?
    At present, I am engaged in various projects encompassing astrophotography, AI, and video production. However, distinct from these endeavors, I am also dedicating my efforts to a project within the realm of music. As I am currently residing abroad, my activity in the NFT domain and on social media has been relatively limited for some time. Nonetheless, I am eagerly preparing fresh and exciting NFT projects in the near future.
    
    [TR] Şu an hem astrofotoğrafçılık alanında, hem de AI ve video alanlarında üzerinde çalıştığım projeler var. Ama bunlardan çok daha farklı olarak müzik alanında da üzerinde çalıştığım bir proje var. Şu an yurt dışında olduğum için bir süreliğine NFT alanı ve sosyal medyada çok aktif olamadım. Ama kısa bir süre sonra yeni projelerle NFT alanında olacağım.
