Please tell us a bit about yourself.
Hello! I'm İrem, 34 years old. I have never been able to adapt to the corporate world, sometimes I can't fit into normal life either, I get bored easily, and sometimes I can't sit still. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by ancient civilizations and the vastness of space. By using this technique, I merge these worlds together to create unique designs that inspire the imagination. This creative process is also therapeutic for me, helping me to overcome challenges. My art is centered around creating new worlds, reviving ancient civilizations, and exploring space in imaginative ways. I pour my heart and soul into every design, aiming to capture the essence of reality. Through my art, I hope to share my passions and experiences, inspiring curiosity and sparking imagination in others. I also say that my motto is "The Past Meets The Future". These two things are what make me who I am, and I believe that my art reflects my existence in the past, present, and future through my thoughts, genetics, DNA, and artistic expression. What mediums do you use to express yourself?
cinema, music, history, and scienceAre you a Solo or Collaborative artist?
I'm actually a solo artist, but I'm always open to collaboration. How do you/your perception of art differ from others?
Being different from others is deeply connected to who I am. Every individual is unique, and that uniqueness is reflected in their art. Each artist expresses their own soul and nature in a distinct way, and I am no exception. Is there a fav artist or an artwork that inspired you/your style?
The things that have influenced my art are film directors, musicians, astrophysicists, and people who lived in ancient times. So, it's impossible to name just one person, but there is a film that has shaped my life, which is Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain" and its music composed by Clint Mansell. What was the last Exhibition you visited?
The last exhibition I visited was Naciye Özdemir's exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and ceramics made from waste materials in İzmit. It was magnificent. What does Innovation mean to you?
Innovation, for me, means being a part of the pace of progress and constantly adding new things. Are you familiar with Web3 /NFTs/Crypto?
Yes, of course, but sometimes I think, "What if it didn't exist?" Although my answer to the innovation question is connected to it, unfortunately, I've started to see that Web3 also contributes to the chaos in real life, especially the chaos that artists like us experience. Maybe it's just applicable to me. But it's a fantastic space to see new individuals, spirits, energies, and arts! It's impossible not to be mesmerized by what you see. You say, "How has this person not been discovered in the real world?"Is AI your Enemy or Friend?
It depends on how individuals choose to progress. In this case, it's entirely in our hands. Please tell us a bit about a recent piece of the art world that has particularly interested you.
I'm fascinated by almost all the works I see, but recently, environmental designs that come out of the collaboration between Unreal Engine and Blender hold a special place for me.Any other projects?
I have also created my own brand called 'theshirtme!'. Although I haven't been able to dedicate much attention to it recently, I have received orders from cities like Berlin, Boston, Lyon, and London. I facilitate the worldwide sale of clothing, including various designs for homeware, accessories, drinkware, and people of all ages and genders. The printing and shipping are provided by a company located in California. In the near future, I aim to expand this operation on a larger scale. One of my goals is to personally create all the drawings using the lino technique and print them by hand.
” Be kind, be open, and do your best to interact with others. Don't overwhelm yourself, be consistent and persistent. Be patient and don't give up. Create your 'first' as soon as possible. Give people an experience. Think differently. Learn as much as you can and try to make connections. And when the time comes, don't be afraid to take breaks. ”
