Please tell us a bit about yourself.
My Taiken is a project created in 2018 and offers traditional cultural experiences in Tokyo, Japan. It is composed of high-level traditional masters, and team members who love cultural exchanges and was founded by Sebastien Moncus, originally from Brittany, France, and deeply involved in the Japanese traditional world.We mainly use MTK_NFT for Web3 and Linkedin to connect, and keep in touch with our partners, as well as on other travel industry-specific networks.
What inspires you?
Generally speaking, the creativity of other people/artists and of course, Nature.Are you a Solo or Collaborative artist?
As a project, we are developing initiatives, genesis collections, and editions very linked to our core physical activities, and are also developing collaborations with different artists for coming NFT drops.How do you/your perception of art differ from others?
As a project, we really want to respect the core traditional performing arts as they were created and developed in Japan while collaborating with other artists, and cultures. My Taiken's founder was born in a region with a strong identity (Brittany - Celtic culture) while living now in a very traditional Grand master family through his inlaws in Japan. This is this double approach, respecting the core principles and codes of the Japanese traditions while focusing on cultural exchanges, that makes us quite unique.Is there a favorite artist or an artwork that inspired you/your style?
The Japanese traditional culture in general but any other culture's or artist's work is interesting to approach concepts.What was the last Exhibition you visited?
It was about a Japanese artist using lithography methods to create his art.What does Innovation mean to you?
Creating new value, especially with technology, is very impressive and inspiring, especially the initiatives to protect the environment. But things have been going so fast in the past decades that we should take a higher view and not chase innovation at all costs.Are you familiar with Web3 /NFTs/Crypto?
We have been researching, experimenting, and looking for our core audience since Summer 2021. Changes happen very fast so we try to keep updated.Is AI your Enemy or Friend?
It is impressive to see the recent adoption of AI, especially for art in Web3 for example. This is part of the innovations we should take time to consider and shape, so at this point 50/50.Practically, AI is very useful for running some research or creating general content, but fakes can be created easily, and when you look for very specialized information, it is not all the time correct.
Please tell us a bit about a recent piece of the art world that has particularly interested you.
It is hard to select one recent piece of art, especially in Web3. Inspired every day by the work seen on the X' Web3 feed!
